During the Repair Coffee event, I developed as product designer two innovative products back to life. The main idea was through the concept of circular economy, to renew and redesign products that had been discarded for various reasons, including because they could not be used due to their broken condition.

The COMBINE is a broken comb that comes to life thanks to design accessories. In the picture above, the wooden design clearly embellishes the comb. I design different styles in different materials to suit different moods and personalities. Read More about COMBINE

When a more robust material is needed in repair, I have explored 3D printing to repair RC monster truck toy. In the image above there is not the final presentation, but it is clear to distinguish the reparation, that is why I included this image. The gray parts are the 3D printing material in PVC with an Ultimaker 3-printer. I designed the parts in 3DsMax and Fusion360 to explore advantages and disadvantages with the software. As you can see, the sturdy design and solid curve follow the design of the toy, but are more stable. Given after painting the feeling of going unnoticed by children but the longest time of use.

Following the concept of circular economy. I have designed this multipurpose box, shown picture above. It is made of discarded materials, old corrugated cardboard boxes, cut in such a way that not an inch of the material is wasted and proposing multiple uses. Each box measures 40cm x 40cm x 20cm and supports up to 14 kilos at the top. Boxes can be applied in different ways and are a good sustainability resource for recycling materials.
